An acronym for Commerce through Sports, SPORTSCOM is a non-profit apex industry body established to promote the business of manufacturers of sporting goods and service providers to the sports sector while making them globally competitive. Sportscom members comprise of businesses and professionals who provide goods and services to the sports industry.

Role of Sportscom

  1. To advocate an industry standard for sports
  2. To raise the quality standards and cost competitiveness of the sports industry, relative to global benchmarks.
  3. To provide an inclusive platform for sports manufacturers, sports infrastructure developers, sports service providers and media & stakeholders advocating for issues based on research.
  4. To build the capacity of different players in the sports ecosystem and be a knowledge hub for sharing state-of-the-art practices.
  5. To promote the culture of sports in India by advocating for mainstream fitness and sports in schools.
  6. To build and nurture talent pool of sports persons.
  7. To advocate for investments in sports through maximizing business participation.
  8. To profile and create database of manufacturers of sports goods and service providers to the sports sector.

Mission

Sportscom aims for policy advocacy by raising the quality standards and cost competitiveness of the sports sector at the global level. Our intent is to build an inclusive platform for sports manufacturers, sports infrastructure developers, sports service providers, stakeholders and media representatives to work on research based issues and advocate for investments in sports through maximizing business participation. Sportscom also intends to build capacity of the different players in the sports ecosystem by building and nurturing a talent pool of sports persons and be a knowledge hub for sharing best practices and promote sports culture in India by advocating for mainstream fitness and sports initiatives in schools and institutions.
